Palmer Reiterates Support For USC
July 28, 2008
GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer says angry Ohio State football fans won’t dampen his support for his alma mater, the University of Southern California.
Palmer irked the Buckeye Nation by recently telling a Los Angeles radio station that Ohio State football fever makes him crazy.
The 2002 Heisman winner showed his Trojan pride Sunday with the comment "Fight on," a reference to USC’s fight song.
As he arrived for training camp at Georgetown College in Kentucky, Palmer said he’s not worried about backlash from Bengals fans who also root for Ohio State.
He says his radio remarks were in good fun but taken too seriously. He’s still hoping to celebrate a USC victory Sept. 13, when the Buckeyes face Southern Cal in Los Angeles.
