Purdue gets $2 million gift from booster

You think you’re a superfan of your team?

Well, odds are you’ve got nothing on Purdue booster Carl Bimel. He went to his first Boilermakers football game in 1928 and later attended the school in the 1940s. He’s been around the program his whole life.

On Thursday, Bimel showed his support by giving $2 million to the Purdue football program. The school said it will name its two outdoor practice fields the Bimel Practice Complex in appreication.

“In my lifetime, I have only had one wife and one football team,” Bimel said in a statement released by the school.
