Stakes for U-M, OSU enhance The Game

There may never be another Ohio State-Michigan clash as important as the 2006 version, when the teams entered The Game ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.

The circumstances outside of the rivalry itself became less and less important during the Rich Rodriguez era at Michigan, as the Wolverines floundered around the .500 mark or below. Last year’s game had significance for Michigan, aiming to end The Streak in The Game — and help its cause for a BCS at-large berth.
