Tressel: ‘Beanie’ Probable, Pryor Official Starter
September 23, 2008
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Beanie could return, and the Bucks have their "pryorities" set. That was the word from Coach Jim Tressel Tuesday.
Tressel said running back Beanie Wells now is probable for Saturday’s Big Ten opener versus Minnesota.
Wells has missed the past three games with a right foot injury. He’ll wear a specially formed shoe to aid that foot.
Also, freshman QB Terrell Pryor is officially OSU’s starter and will get the call Saturday. Tressel complimented Pryor’s decision-making.
"He knows when he errs … He had one throw he wanted back … he’s got that calmness to slow down," Tressel said.
Tressel was asked about the manner in which fans booed Todd Boeckman in his brief playing time Saturday.
Tressel refused to scold fans and said it was part of the game but disappointing.
Injury updates: Austin Spitler will miss the game with a leg injury, and linemam Steve Rehring will likely miss a second straight game with a foot problem. Tyler Moeller should return this week.
