Your 2008 Buckeye Fan Guide

August 26, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Dust off your scarlet and gray T-shirt and ball cap. The Buckeyes begin their season in just five days.

NBC 4’s Buckeye Nation has the facts fans need to know before heading to the ‘Shoe this weekend.

Kickoff against Penguins will be noon Saturday. The game is sold out. Remember, RV parking is reserved and must be purchased online before Game Day. It’ll cost fans bucks. There were still available RV spots Tuesday morning.

Remember the COTA routes that will run from the fairgrounds, High Street and Airport. The shuttles will run six hours prior to the game, during the game and one hour after the game.

There also will be designated visitor parking as part of the "Best Fans In The Land" campaign.

There are bike corrals set up near the bike path for those who want to two-wheel their way to the game.

As in the past, law-enforcement agencies will enforce state laws regarding the use and possession of alcohol. Chief Denton said that on-campus will be monitored strictly by uniformed police officers. Any undercover officers will be off-campus and handled by the Franklin County sheriff’s office and/or CPD.

Any violations caught by police will be dealt with at the officer’s discretion.

Another thing officers will be watching out for is misuse of handicap placards. Because has increased handicap parking, it thinks this will be a major issue.

There will be new cheers this year and a new way that the team enters the field.

There will be two distinct student sections, which take up the entire south stands and the northwest corner of the stadium.
