Ohio State Crushes Nebraska in Big Ten Tournament Clash

It was an ugly start for the No. 2 seed Ohio State Buckeyes in their Big Ten tournament quarterfinals matchup against the No. 10 Nebraska Cornhuskers, but the Scarlet and Gray eventually pulled away behind defensive pressure and timely scoring and won 71-50.
Deshaun Thomas led the way with 19 points, while Sam Thompson also added a career-high 19. Shannon Scott and a nicely implemented full-court press by Thad Matta helped inject some energy in the middle of the first half for the struggling Buckeyes.
The season is officially over for the Cornhuskers, but the Buckeyes move on to fight another day. They will face the winner of tonight’s Michigan State and Iowa contest.
Perhaps more importantly, Matta’s squad stayed alive in the crowded race for a No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament.
