Corey Avery (Dallas/Carter) isn’t the most boisterous or most flamboyant athlete. In fact, when he’s on the field, he seems to be all business. Sometimes, not being the most vocal can result in the “sleeper” title. For months Avery was considered a sleeper, but recently he’s picked up offers from Texas Tech and Nebraska to go along with his first offer, which came from West Virginia. On Monday, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound sparkplug earned arguably his most recognizable offer as Ohio State entered the picture.

You’ve waited for it, and the Big Ten prime-time schedule for the 2013 season is finally here. Well, at least the first part of it. ESPN/ABC has made its six prime-time picks for the upcoming season. One game already had been announced: Notre Dame at Michigan on Sept. 7. The growing trend in the nation is to take athletes out of California, Florida, Georgia and Texas to build a football program. But the Big Ten loves a Buckeye – or at least an athlete from the Buckeye State. And the numbers aren’t even close. An up-and-down season for the Ohio State basketball team is on an upward trend after three straight wins, but a daunting trip to Bloomington to take on the mighty Indiana Hoosiers is next on the docket. Tom Crean’s squad came into Columbus earlier in the year and knocked off the Buckeyes, 81-68 , in a game that really wasn ’t as close as the score indicated.
