Three Ohio State Basketball Players Leaving?
After an early first round NCAA loss to Siena on Friday night, questions turn to who will stay and who will be leaving the basketball program for the NBA this summer. The three players that are within reach of an NBA contract are freshman center BJ Mullens, freshman guard William Buford and sophomore small forward Evan Turner. And with a revolving door of great talent coming through Ohio State will Coach Matta be able to return to the highest pinnacle of college coaching?

Ohio State upsets Top Seeded Michigan State in Big Ten Tournament
Ohio State moved on to the Big Ten Tournament final today against Purdue by beating the #1 seeded Michigan State in Indianapolis 82-70. The Buckeyes got help from every person on the team with great performances by Evan Turner, Jon Diebler, William Buford, and BJ Mullens. After the game Evan Turner discussed how they made adjustments after losing two regular season games to the Spartans and how he came back from not scoring in the first half to scoring 18 points in the second.

NBA insider Chad Ford of ESPN.com published a list this week of who was hot and who was not during the first week of the NCAA Tournament. Evan Turner made his list of 11 who helped their stock. What Ford wrote:
Turner’s team may have been ousted in the first round, but it wasn’t his fault. He had a spectacular game for the Buckeyes, scoring 28 points, grabbing 9 boards and dishing out 8 assists. The performance confirmed the opinion of a number of trusted scouts who feel Turner is the most underrated player in the draft.
“He’s so solid in so many areas of the game,” one veteran scout said. “He needs to improve his perimeter shot, but the rest of the package is there.”
Turner is currently projected to go somewhere between the late lottery and the middle of the first round. However, after the Buckeyes lost, he said he’s returning to Ohio State for his junior season. But we’ll see if that holds true. In the past, players often say similar things when their team is ousted from the tournament, only to reverse course after exploring their draft options more fully.
