State of the rivalry: Tight ends
The writers at WolverineNation and BuckeyeNation put their heads together to break down the rivals’ 2013 recruiting classes. They’ll give readers a position-by-position look at who coaches Brady Hoke and Urban Meyer signed and, ultimately, which class edged out the other. It’s too early to say what will happen through the next few seasons, and we won’t make any promises except that Hoke and Meyer are going to put talent on the field. Ohio State got: The Buckeyes hit the West Coast at the position, picking up Marcus Baugh (Riverside, Calif.
Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2 Under-the-Radar Commits Who Will Be Stars
Every college football program has under-the-radar recruits who don’t seem to get the attention they deserve. When dealing with the Ohio State Buckeyes’ 2013 recruiting class, there are two players who aren’t mentioned…
Under Armour Spotlight: Marcus Baugh
Marcus Baugh has been waiting for Friday’s Under Armour All-America Game since the moment he put on the black No. 12 jersey on Sept. 25. A tight end who has been an Ohio State commit since April 10, Baugh caught 38 passes for 610 yards and added four scores this season for the Huskies. As a junior, he made 30 catches for 528 yards and added seven scores. His high school coach lauded his linebacker skills as well, proving that Baugh is more than just a one-trick pony.
Recruiting Update: 4/25
A lot has happened since Derek’s recruiting update a couple of weeks ago. When the last recruiting update was posted, the Buckeyes had only landed 7 commitments in the 2013 class. Since then, we have seen 6 more players join “the good guys”. Below, I will post my thoughts on these 6 new commitments, and also update everybody on a couple other player that remain on the Buckeye’s radar. TE Marcus Baugh: This is a commitment nobody saw coming. While doing my mock class, Baugh’s name never crossed my mind. He had Arizona State in lead lead for awhile and assumed he would go there, or to another school out west. However, he decided to pull the trigger on Ohio State without even visiting. Baugh is a great addition, he is going in be used in an Aaron Hernandez type role. DT/DE Tracy Sprinkle: I didn’t know too much about Tracy Sprinkle until a couple of weeks ago when he was offered seemingly out of nowhere. After I saw he was offered, I went to…

Buckeye Commit #8 Marcus Baugh
Following recruitment offers its ups and downs, and sometimes, plenty of surprises. On this day, April 10th, 2012, it was no different. As most of us were formulating guesses about who the next commit would be in the class of 2012, nobody would have guessed Riverside, California tight end Marcus Baugh.
Heuerman or McNeil?
This past weekend while writing up my mock class, the name Marcus Baugh never crossed my mind. Today, Baugh just announced his commitment to Ohio State, which shocked me. The commitment of Baugh leaves room for only one more tight end in the Buckeyes’ 2013 recruiting class.
