Buckeyes open practice, Meyer discusses team needs
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — In their first official act of the 2013 season, the Ohio State Buckeyes came in from the cold. Coach Urban Meyer began his second season with the Buckeyes by overseeing the first spring workout inside the team’s practice facility because of inclement weather. Meyer patrolled the field looking at different position groups. He is particularly interested in filling huge departures on the defensive line and at linebacker. Braxton Miller, on a regional cover of Sports Illustrated this week as a Heisman Trophy contender, went through his paces at quarterback. Among those participating in their first collegiate practice were four early enrollees from the 2013 recruiting class: cornerbacks Eli Apple and Cam Burrows and defensive linemen Tyquan Lewis and Tracy Sprinkle.

Lots of studs were in attendance which included the likes of Tyquan Lewis, Vonn Bell, Darron Lee, Caleb Day, Christian Morris, Lovell Peterson, Kyle Meadows, and others. Tyquan Lewis – Lewis definitely looked the part. A very physically imposing player that also had the speed to go along with his size. Lewis and Pantoni seemed to have a great relationship. Lewis was definitely a man amongst boys among his position group. He definitely impressed me. The Buckeyes would be getting a great player if he joined the class of 2013. Vonn Bell – Vonn Bell to me was the best prospect out there at the camp. He is very quick and had great feet in the football drills. Urban Meyer showed up to the camp for a short bit and exchanged a few words with Bell. Urban at one point asked Coach …
