NFL draft: J.K. Dobbins looks to prove himself after stellar Ohio State tenure


Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins, a native Texan who starred at La Grange High School, is part of a talented group of running backs who could last until the second round. This year’s draft doesn’t have an extraordinary running back like Penn State’s Saquon Barkley, selected second overall by the New York Giants in 2018. Last year, Alabama’s Josh Jacobs was the only back drafted in the first round, going to Oakland at No. 24. Overall, though, this draft has first-round talent and impressive depth, but because the position has been devalued by NFL coaches, every back could still be on the board after the first round. Dobbins (5-10, 209) is a fascinating prospect whose place in the running back hierarchy depends on a general manager’s preference for the position.
