
COLUMBUS, Ohio — While Ohio State football continues to pull away as the top recruiting class in 2021, its 2022 class just got its first commitment in Louisiana native Jyaire Brown of Warren Easton High School. Brown is the first player from the state of Louisiana to commit to Ohio State since Nadar Abdallah in 2004 and the third ever along with Jonathan Wells in 1998. He is considered to be a four-star recruit in 247Sports’ player ranking as the No. 122 overall player and No. 16 cornerback. Brown chose the Buckeyes over 18 other schools including Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State. His commitment comes just four days after earning an offer from the Buckeyes. The 6-foot, 165 defensive back is the second commitment that defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs has landed this week joining 2020 athlete Jantzen Dunn who committed on Monday.
