Ohio State baseball drops second straight vs. Michigan State

The Ohio State baseball team is seeing its shot at any kind of postseason slip away. To be fair, at just around and above .500, it was going to be an uphill climb anyhow, but the schedule was favorable heading down the stretch. But instead of taking advantage this weekend against a Michigan State team in the bottom three of the league, the Buckeyes have started the weekend series by dropping the first two. After giving up a ten-spot on Friday night, OSU did much better in the pitching department on Saturday, surrendering just two runs. Unfortunately, the bats cooled and could not come up with a timely hit to make the pitching hold up, and Ohio State lost 2-0. The Spartans lone two runs came on a two-out home run in the top of the fifth inning, and that was enough to hold up. Buckeye pitching gave up just five hits,…
