ORLANDO, Fla. — The Ohio State women’s tennis team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament with a 4-1 defeat to No. 2 seed Texas in the Round of 16 on Sunday. The Buckeyes, who were the No. 15 seed, finished the season 23-4. Texas (28-1) advanced to face No. 7 Florida State. The loss ended a 15-match winning streak for Ohio State, the Big Ten regular-season co-champion and Big Ten tournament winner. Ohio State was making its seventh consecutive NCAA appearance. The lone winner for Ohio State on Sunday was 18th-ranked Irina Cantos Siemers, who won 6-2, 6-0 over No. 37 Peyton Stearns.
