For the first time since 1995, a college football game not involving the Ohio State Buckeyes will be played in Ohio Stadium. © Doral Chenoweth/Columbus Dispatch Ohio Stadium On Aug. 28, a pair of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Central State and Kentucky State, will face off at Ohio Stadium in the Classic for Columbus. The game is the centerpiece of a four-day multicultural program in Downtown from Aug. 25-29 that includes a jamboree festival and a battle of the bands competition, as well as college and career fairs. The game is a staple of HBCU college football history in Ohio and began in the early 1990s, first being played in Cooper Stadium in Columbus, where it was held until 1996.
