Despite fast start, Chris Holtmann, Ohio State knew Towson battle was still coming

Chris Holtmann had seen too much to know that it wasn’t going to be this easy. Not even five minutes into Wednesday night’s game against Towson at Value City Arena, No. 21 Ohio State had charged out to a 12-3 lead on the Tigers thanks to a 10-0 run. The Buckeyes had scored on their first five possessions of the game and, after Kyle Young took a charge to send the game into the under-16 media timeout with 15:28 left, Ohio State would have the ball when play resumed. Holtmann was wary of these Tigers. He’d seen them lose by four points at Pitt on Nov. 19, watched them beat New Mexico on a neutral court one week later and, most recently, saw them jump out to a 23-5 lead at Kent State in a 15-point Monday win.
