Just when you thought Ohio State was going to bow out of the Big Ten regular-season title chase, it rises up off the mat and gets an unexpected 86-83 win on the road vs. No. 15 Illinois. It was a game that had more twists and turns than a mountain highway, and there’s plenty that we can take from it. We like to reflect on some of the important games Ohio State graces us with and knocking off a team the caliber of Illinois, on the road, certainly qualifies. Anytime you can outlast a team in an all-timer towards making a run at a trophy, it’s worth dissecting.
