Ohio State Buckeyes eliminated from NCAA softball tournament with 5-1 loss to Oregon State

The Ohio State softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 5-1 loss to Oregon State on Saturday in a regional at Knoxville, Tennessee. The Buckeyes finished 36-17. Oregon State (36-20) advanced to the regional championship against Tennessee at 2 p.m. Sunday, with another game after that if needed. Mariahh Mazon homered and pitched the final two innings for Oregon State. Frankie Hammoude also homered for the Beavers. Melina Wilkison had two of the Buckeyes’ three hits in the game and had an RBI double. “I’m so thankful for this group of girls,” said OSU pitcher Lexie Handley. “Obviously good things comes to an end but nobody tells you what happens to great things.
