CLEVELAND, Ohio – On film, the difference between an SEC football team and the rest of the country is the play of the defensive front seven, particularly the defensive line. The combination of size, speed, explosion, length, and depth up front is just different from that in any other conference in the country. Led by All-American Jalen Carter, the Georgia defensive line epitomizes why they have been so dominant for years. Carter, Zion Logue, Nazir Stackhouse, Warren Brinson and Bear Alexander are the Bulldog defensive tackles who are similar in both size and skill set. Tramel Walthour, Mykel Williams, Robert Beal Jr., and Chaz Chambliss make up the defensive ends, or edge players, who play with great speed, explosion and technique. Linebackers Jamon Dumas-Johnson, Smael Mondon, and Trezmen Marshall are physical and play sideline to sideline. Running the football can be very frustrating against this front seven.
