ESPN NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. thinks an Ohio State football player will be the first to hear his name called when the 2023 NFL draft begins April 27. In his third mock draft, Kiper has three Buckeyes in the first 20 picks — quarterback C.J. Stroud at No. 1 overall to the Carolina Panthers, offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr. at No. 9 to the Chicago Bears and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba at No. 20 to the Seattle Seahawks. If this holds, Ohio State would be one of two teams, along with Georgia, to have at least three players selected in the first round.
