Ohio State’s cornerbacks playing with attitude and physicality, but a big test awaits


There’s an argument to be made that Denzel Burke has been Ohio State’s best defensive player so far this season. He was terrific again on Saturday against Youngstown State. He finished the game with one interception and one tackle, and both plays epitomize what cornerbacks coach Tim Walton wants from his players. Advertisement With eight minutes left in the third quarter, Burke made a hard tackle on running back Dra Rushton — so hard that his helmet came off and he had to head to the sideline. He came back in the game and got an interception on the next play, the first one for an Ohio State corner since Cameron Brown brought one down against Penn State in 2021. “I got to go get it, it’s mine.
