According to ESPN, Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer flipped a coin in the team’s meeting room to determine who would go first and Jones called heads, which wound up being the right choice. Regardless of who opened camp behind the center, Meyer is committing to giving both Jones and Barrett the same amount of reps. “We won’t announce anything until the first guy takes the field against Virginia Tech,” Meyer told reporters, according to ESPN. “I’m trying to think if we’ve ever had to do that where it’s 50-50. I don’t think we ever have.” Like many observers, Meyer has suggested he is dealing with a truly unique situation with little – if any – precedent.
