NCAA College Football News: AP Top 25 Rankings Has Ohio State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, TCU …

The NCAA college football weekend saw some major results and now the Associated Press Top 25 has some new teams in the AP Top 5, as Ohio State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, TCU and Baylor are in as the best teams in the nation heading into Week 4 of the season.

Ohio State remained at the top spot after starting there to open the season, but Michigan State jumped up after they won against Air Force. The win followed a victory over Oregon and now the Spartans are 3-0 on the season and they are ranked number two behind Ohio State. The Big Ten is making a comeback, as they have not had schools in the top two of the rankings since back in 2006, according to ESPN.com.

Ohio State won over Northern Illinois on Saturday and they ended up taking 40 first-place votes, while Michigan State received seven from the voters. ESPN reports that Michigan and Ohio State were the top teams the last time that the Big Ten had two in the top two. Ole Miss jumped u to number three after Mississippi beat Alabama on Saturday night and they are in a tie with TCU.

The Horned Frogs are there at number three with the Rebels and that leaves the Baylor Bears in the number five spot. The top 10 is rounded out by Notre Dame, LSU, Georgia, UCLA and Florida State. LSU was the other team to get a first place vote this week. Michigan State is in good position right now to make it to the playoff, as they have Ohio State on the schedule as one of the final games of the season. That matchup could be huge in determining the rankings for the playoff.
