Ohio State Football: Run Defense Is Buckeyes’ Biggest Hidden Weakness

The Ohio State football program headed into its bye week as the No. 1 team in the country, and while the Buckeyes appear to be clicking on all cylinders with J.T. Barrett installed as the starters, OSU’s defense has one hidden weakness that could be exposed at the end of the season. The Ohio State offense finally turned the corner when J.T. Barrett took over in the red zone. It then hit top speed when Barrett was inserted as the starter against Penn State. Now 18th in the nation in total yards, 15th in points per game, and 13th in rushing yards per game, the Buckeye offense has reasserted itself as one of the most dominant units in all of college football. But what about the Silver Bullets? As the saviors of some ugly wins early in the year, it’s easy to say the defense has been equally as stellar. For the most part, that is true.
