Ohio State football trio join Buckeye track and field team

Ohio State announced Tuesday that Urban Meyer’s football team is sharing three highly recruited players with the Buckeyes track and field team.  Receivers Dontre Wilson and James Clark are joining the team as sprinters while defensive tackle Robert Landers will become one of the Buckeyes’ throwers.  Although all four were high school four-star prospects, one of the three had much of an impact on the Buckeye football team last season.  Battling a foot injury that had to be surgically repaired during the 2014 season, Wilson played in only nine games as a junior in 2015 and caught seven passes for 63 yards.  He has played 32 career games and has 50 catches for 573 yards and five touchdowns.  Clark played in three games as a freshman in 2013 before suffering a season-ending ankle injury. He played in three games in 2014 but struggled with a hamstring problem.  Landers was a true freshman last fall who sat out as a redshirt. He was an Ohio state champions in the shot put as a junior at Huber Heights Wayne High School.  “We’re excited to have our football players join the track and field program,” OSU track coach Karen Dennis said in a statement. …
