USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Ohio Girls Basketball Team. COACH OF THE YEAR Andrew Booth, WadsworthBooth guided Wadsworth to a 28-1 record and the Division I state title, culminating with a convincing 60-51 win over Mason in the state championship game. FIRST TEAM Player of the YearJensen Caretti, G/F, River (Hannibal), 6-1, Sr.The future Ohio State Buckeye averaged 25 points, 11 rebounds and three assists per game, leading the Pilots (21-5) to the Division IV district semifinals this past season. Caretti, the state’s Miss Basketball winner, also earned Gatorade Ohio Girls Basketball Player of the Year honors and is the nation’s No. 31 rated recruit in the Class of 2016 by ESPN. Jodi Johnson, PG, Wadsworth, 5-10, Sr.A University of Ashland signee, Johnson averaged 18.1 points, six rebounds and three assists per game while leading Wadsworth (28-1) to the Division I state title. Nia Staples, G, Lakota West (West Chester), 5-9, Sr.Staples, who will play collegiately for West Virginia this fall, averaged 16.4 points per game for a Lakota West team that reached the Division I regional final. Lexie Barrier, G, Ironton, 5-11, Sr.The James Madison signee averaged 18.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists to lead Ironton to the Division III semifinals. Bridgette Rettstatt, F, Worthington Christian (Worthington), 6-1, Jr.Rettstatt averaged 23.4 points, 10.1 assists and 3.6 assists per game while leading Worthington Christian to the first round of the Division III district tournament.
