Westerville South forward Andre Wesson signs with Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio -Westerville South’s Andre Wesson signed a letter of intent to play for the Buckeyes Wednesday. “We are excited Andre continued the Wesson legacy with Ohio State basketball,” Thad Matta, head coach of the Buckeyes, said. “Andre brings several elements to our program with his abilities to score, handle the ball, shoot from 3-point range and play defense. But one of the things I like most about him is his desire play for the Buckeyes and add to what his father accomplished in an Ohio State uniform.” Wesson helped his school win the 2016 Ohio Division 1 Boys Basketball state title in March. During his senior year, Wesson averaged 17 points, six rebounds and three assists a game. Wesson joins Micah Potter (6-10, 245, C) and Derek Funderburk (6-9, 210, F) who signed with the Buckeyes last November, as incoming freshmen in 2016.  Wesson is the son of Keith Wesson, who lettered with Ohio State in men’s basketball from 1983-87.
