Another week, another daunting Big Ten road game.Last week, Ohio State traveled to Wisconsin, home of the eighth-ranked Badgers and 81,000 fans doing the “Jump Around.” This week, it’s Penn State and a frenzied “White Out” crowd of 107,000 at Beaver Stadium. Like the Badgers, the Nittany Lions (4-2, 2-1) are rested after an off week. They would love nothing more than to give coach James Franklin a much-needed signature win against the second-ranked Buckeyes (6-0, 3-0). If Penn State, a 19-point underdog, is to pull the upset, it will do something that no other host team has done against coach Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes: beat visiting Ohio State on the home field. The Buckeyes have won all 20 games played on their opponents’ home field under Meyer. It’s the longest road winning streak since the University of Miami did it from 1984 to ’88. Not since Alabama under Paul “Bear” Bryant from 1970 to ’75 has a team won 21 straight on the road.
