Ohio State to kick off 2017 season on a Thursday at Indiana

Ohio State, a College Football Playoff semifinalist in 2016, announced Tuesday that it will open its 2017 season with a Big Ten game on Thursday, Aug. 31, at Indiana. The two schools as well as the Big Ten agreed on moving up the opener by two days. MORE: Big Ten football should be reserved for Saturdays It will mark the seventh time the Buckeyes will open a football season on a day other than Saturday, and it will be the third Thursday evening opener. The game will mark the first time in 41 years that Ohio State has opened with a conference game. Ohio State is 12-0 all-time when opening against a Big Ten opponent. The Buckeyes and Hoosiers have met five times in openers, the last time in 1954. Kickoff time and TV information are to be determined.
