Ohio Stateâ s 2017 season opening game date moved

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State’s 2017 season-opening football game, a Big Ten Conference game in Bloomington against the Indiana Hoosiers, will be played on Thursday, Aug. 31 instead of Saturday, Sept. 2. The two schools and the Big Ten Conference were in agreement with the date change. This will be the seventh time Ohio State will open a season on a day other than Saturday and it will be the third Thursday evening game. Kick time and the televising network are to be determined. Ohio State’s most recent non-Saturday opener was last year, when the Buckeyes played at Virginia Tech in prime time on Labor Day to cap the initial college football weekend of games.
