OSU players can enter supplemental draft

Despite the ongoing NFL lockout, the supplemental draft will be held in July, colleague Adam Schefter reports.

That is, if there are any applicants. Currently there are none, an NFL official tells Schefter.

It could be significant for Ohio State players facing the possibility of missing significant field time this season. Five Buckeyes seniors will miss the first five games because of suspension, and one of them, quarterback Terrelle Pryor, is facing another investigation into allegations he received extra benefits.

If Pryor is in danger of a season-long suspension, why wouldn’t he jump to the supplemental draft? He could do so, according to Tuesday’s report.
