The following transcript is a combination of Fickell’s opening statement, the Q&A situation that followed, and an interview with the Big Ten Network’s Dave Revsine that aired before the press conference. I attempted to capture Fickell’s words as accurately as possible, leaving in some of the “speech-y” sections that don’t translate to the written word fluently while paraphrasing other sections for the sake of clarity. It is rather lengthy, but I removed any redundancies I could find, trimming the total word count from 3,200+ to about 2,400 words.
I encourage you to form your own opinions on Ohio State’s new head coach, but I think he’s the perfect man for this interim role.
