Hearing, then practice for Fickell on Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Luke Fickell is looking forward to Friday afternoon when his Ohio State Buckeyes practice in pads for the first time this fall.

It’s the rest of the day that Fickell could do without.

The Buckeyes head coach will accompany the school contingent — and meet up with former coach Jim Tressel — in Indianapolis on Friday morning to appear before the NCAA Committee on Infractions. Though Fickell was not named in any of the allegations against Ohio State, it is customary for the current head coach to appear before the committee.

“I hope I don’t have to say anything,” Fickell said. “It’s not going to be about me. I don’t know that I’ve been told a whole lot that I will have to say.”
