Ohio State suspends DB Dominic Clarke

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: an Ohio State player has been suspended.

At least there are no NCAA violations involved this time. Head coach Luke Fickell announced cornerback Dominic Clarke would not travel with the team to Illinois on Saturday because of a violation of team rules. According to media reports, Clarke was cited for disorderly conduct at a campus dining area on Sunday. Fickell said Clarke was “remorseful” for his actions.

Clarke is the Buckeyes’ top backup corner, and his absence could hurt the depth in the secondary as Ohio State tries to contain A.J. Jenkins and the Illini receivers. Corey “Pittsburgh” Brown — who himself was suspended earlier this year — and freshman Doran Grant will take over for Clarke.
