Ohio State hires Tom Herman as QB coach

Urban Meyer has hired a quarterbacks coach whose first order of business will be to tutor blossoming star Braxton Miller.

Ohio State confirmed to the Associated Press on Friday that it had hired Iowa State assistant Tom Herman to join Meyer’s staff. Herman has spent the past three seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Cyclones, who ran a spread offense. Iowa State finished 86th in scoring offense this season at 23.5 points per game, but the Cyclones have put up some big offensive stats during Herman’s tenure.
