Meyer surprised by B1G title drought

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Big Ten’s only national championship in the BCS era is commemorated in the lobby of the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.

Unlike the folks at Alabama, Ohio State takes good care of its crystal football, which is encased in glass and visible for everyone who enters the building. Ohio State is the only Big Ten team to own the trophy since the BCS launched in 1998, and the Buckeyes are the only Big Ten squad to have competed for one (2002, 2006, 2007).
