Ohio State prospects strive to ‘erase’ misdeeds

Suspended in December 2010, in part for accepting tattoos that were deemed by the NCAA to be an impermissible benefit, a quintet of Ohio State players each still have the body markings that contributed to the downfall of coach Jim Tressel.

Seventeen months later, though, the former Buckeyes’ players aren’t exactly marked indelibly for life.

“There’s still a chance,” acknowledged offensive tackle Mike Adams, “for us to make something good out of it and erase all of it.”
