The Urban Meyer era at Ohio State is full of intrigue, excitement and potential because of the pedigree and resume Meyer brings.
Ohio State hasn’t brought in a coach with not only ties to the Buckeye state, but with a track record of success at a major power in the SEC. Two national championships and a third BCS bowl win are quite the glowing portions of the Meyer resume.
The biggest thing he has already brought with him to Ohio State is his presence. He has an impact all over the football program, not just on the field.
Ohio State had a similar thing with Jim Tressel, who was revered and sometimes worshiped among Buckeye fans. However, the biggest concern with him—up until “Tattoogate”—was that he was always so secretive in his methods, keeping everything behind a curtain.
Meyer is far from that, as he is always open and available to the media, and he is more than willing to connect with fans.
