Buckeyes making good use of school’s iPad investment: Ohio State insider

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Before he went to sleep Saturday night, Ohio State senior right tackle Reid Fragel wanted to check out his first game as a Buckeye since he converted from tight end. So he grabbed his iPad.

When he woke up Sunday morning, he wanted to start scouting Central Florida, the Buckeyes’ opponent on Saturday. So he grabbed his iPad.

Part of a $400,000 investment by the athletic department that should get iPads into the hands of all 1,100 athletes at Ohio State within the next two years, the idea was aimed at helping the academic goals of players. But the Buckeyes are finding they also are able to study more football, and to do so earlier in the week.
