Ohio State coming around to Miller for Heisman

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State coach Urban Meyer has refused for weeks to even discuss quarterback Braxton Miller ‘s Heisman Trophy chances. Now Meyer, who coached a Heisman winner at Florida named Tim Tebow , is joining a growing number who think the Buckeyes sophomore might just be a viable contender for the award. Miller is just the third Big Ten quarterback to top 1,000 rushing yards in a season, and he currently ranks 11th in the country and first in the conference at 121 a game. When the stats are backed by a team with a spotless 9-0 record and a No. 6 ranking, that adds more weight to the argument. Ohio State officials are now looking into ways to promote Miller’s candidacy as the school’s potential eighth Heisman winner.
