Oddsmakers Do Badgers No Favors Against Buckeyes

As if the Ohio State Buckeyes needed more bulletin board material going into Saturday afternoon’s game at Camp Randall Stadium against the Wisconsin Badgers! The oddsmakers have put the college football betting odds at Wisconsin -3 on Saturday, and that has to really make the 10-0 Buckeyes steaming mad.

Remember that Ohio State is just one of the four teams that are left standing without a loss this year in the country after a week in which both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Louisville Cardinals were defeated. There is still a real chance to finish the regular season at No. 1 in the AP Poll, and the team could be the only one to finish out the campaign without a loss.

Wisconsin also just rushed for 564 yards on the Indiana Hoosiers en route to it calling itself the Big Ten Leaders Division champ for the second straight year. Ohio State will take some major offense to that for sure, and it will want to make this point clear on Saturday afternoon that it might not be able to call itself a champ, but it will want to prove that it is the best team in the conference.

To make matters worse for the Badgers, QB Curt Phillips really proved nothing last week against the Hoosiers. He only threw the ball seven times, and though he did throw a touchdown, the sample set is awfully small. Now, he is going against a defense that is only just barely allowing 100 rushing yards per game, and he is going to have to figure out how to get the ball moving on the ground with either his legs or those of RB Montee Ball to get points on the board.

It’s a tall task indeed, and it is a tall task no matter who the quarterback is. The Badgers haven’t played all that well against Ohio State over the course of the last five years, going just 1-4 ATS in those games.
