The outstanding play of Ohio State star Deshaun Thomas is getting him plenty of attention, but the seventh-ranked Buckeyes are starting to prove they have some unexpected options offensively. They look to display their depth again Saturday when they host a Long Beach State team continuing a brutally difficult early schedule. Thomas has been living up to his preseason All-America billing, especially while averaging 24.0 points on 54.0 percent shooting during Ohio State’s 4-0 start. He’s been a bit quieter the last two games – including the Buckeyes’ first loss, 73-68 at No. 2 Duke on Nov. 28 – but a pair of teammates shined off the bench in last Saturday’s 70-43 win over Northern Kentucky.
