Twelve and oh so perfect.

After suffering through one of the worst seasons in school history last year, the 2012 Buckeyes became just the sixth Ohio State team to post a perfect record.

Ohio State’s undefeated season was just as improbable as it was exciting, and from start to finish, it was jam-packed with unforgettable moments.

Going wire to wire without a loss requires a lot of moving parts to come together without imploding. You need skill, luck, good coaching, coachable players, more luck, preparation, execution and even more luck.

Ohio State had all that going for them this year, which produced a number of jaw-dropping plays, comebacks and storylines. Here are the top five moments of the Buckeyes’ 2012 football season.

5. Devin Smith’s one-handed touchdown catch vs. Miami (OH)

People are capable of doing some pretty incredible things.

Some people can take a ramp and a dirt bike and jump over a river. Some people can take a paintbrush and a blank canvas and create a whole new world. There are even some people who can listen to an entire Kesha song without hating themselves.

Despite all that, no one should be able to do what Devin Smith did in the second quarter of Ohio State’s season-opening game against Miami.

 That was the first touchdown of the Urban Meyer era at Ohio State.
