Ohio State sends offer to unlikely state

Ohio State’s defense is based on speed, and the Buckeyes will go anywhere to find it. And that includes Oklahoma, a state Ohio State rarely recruits. Steven Parker (Jenks, Okla./Jenks) picked up an offer from the Buckeyes. That the ESPN Watch List safety nabbed the interest of Ohio State isn’t that big of a surprise as he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. That he’s from Oklahoma is a bit of a shocker because it is believed nose tackle Craig Roark of Ada High School was the last from the Sooner State to pick up an offer from the Buckeyes, and that was in 2005.
