Is Versatile 4-Star Lonnie Johnson a Lock to Ohio State?

4-star recruit Lonnie Johnson appears like he could be close to becoming an Ohio State lean, but don’t consider him a lock to the Buckeyes just yet.

For all intents and purposes, though, it sure looks like Johnson is strongly considering Ohio State. Brad Bournival of ESPN.com reports the latest:

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Johnson tweeted that he saw everything from Ohio State that he needed to see.

“They showed me a lot,” said Johnson, who picked up an Ohio State offer in December. “I really needed to see if they passed the ball a lot. They showed me that they did, so that made them jump really high on my list. They passed the ball a lot, so that made them a favorite.”

That the Buckeyes are one of his favorites is good news for fans. They appeared to be a leader when they originally offered Johnson, but he saw his recruitment take off as Bowling Green, Illinois, Kentucky, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Purdue came calling.
