Ohio State Football: 2014 OSU Commits Create Website to Recruit Other Prospects

When it comes to recruiting, college football coaches around the country are doing anything they can to set themselves apart from the multitude of other coaches pursuing the same high school prospects.

Some do this very successfully, while others—like the folks at Mississippi State—think sloppily scrawling the words “you’re a baller” on a card and sending it to a prospect is a good recruiting strategy.

Some of the most effective recruiting, though, takes place when already-committed prospects try to attract other high school players to the same school.

ElevenWarriors.com wrote late on Wednesday night that Damon Webb’s family created the website 2014Bucks.com as a way to celebrate Ohio State’s current commits, and also to recruit other top prospects.

Webb—a 4-star cornerback out of Detroit and the second commit of Ohio State’s 2014 class—is featured in a slide presentation at the top of the website along with the other six members of the Buckeyes’ 2014 class. The content below that presentation states the purpose of the site:

Welcome to the “2014Bucks” committed to The Ohio State University Website. We will use this site to recruit and have fun. We will share on and off the field stuff, our path to national signing day, our senior football seasons, and our upcoming visits to Columbus.
