Meyer denies turning in Florida

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer did not report Florida for a possible secondary NCAA recruiting violation but had knowledge of the situation and approved of the Buckeyes turning in the Florida assistant involved with an alleged impermissible “bump,” ESPN.com reported Wednesday. FoxSports.com first reported the “bump,” or illegal contact, between Florida running backs coach Brian White, whom Meyer hired at Florida when he was coach there, and running back-defensive back Curtis Samuel of Erasmus High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. But Meyer told the Gainesville Sun and The Columbus Dispatch that it wasn’t true that he had any involvement in reporting the alleged incident. “It is absolutely not true that I turned in the University of Florida,” Meyer texted to The Dispatch.
