Urban Meyer hands CB Roby at least one-game suspension (NBC Sports)

Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby may have had his battery charge reduced, but he’ll still miss some playing time in 2013. Just how much, though, is still technically to be determined.

Urban Meyer said Saturday that Roby has been suspended for at least the season opener against Buffalo – perhaps longer depending on the outcome of his case. Roby, a junior, had started the previous 25 games for Ohio State.

“He’ll be suspended one game just because there was an issue,” Meyer said.

Similarly, Meyer suspended running back Carlos Hyde for at least the first three games of the year last month even though Hyde won’t face any charges for his involvement in a night club incident earlier this summer.

Speaking of running backs, Rod Smith will also miss the Buckeyes’ season opener because of an apparently disciplinary issue that took place back in February.
