Miller will not play for No. 4 Ohio State at Cal

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Braxton Miller will not play for No. 4 Ohio State at California because of a sprained ligament in his left knee. An Ohio State spokesman confirmed the decision about 30 minutes before Saturday’s kickoff. Fifth-year senior Kenny Guiton started in Miller’s place. Miller was in shorts and a T-shirt when the Buckeyes ran onto the field at Memorial Stadium. He injured his knee in Ohio State’s 42-7 win over San Diego State last weekend. Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer said earlier this week he was ”fairly optimistic” that the junior might play. Instead, Ohio State turned to Guiton, who entered the game 35 of 54 for 317 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions.
