Ohio State’s Urban Meyer Has a Wonderful Response to 2-Year-Old Recruit

An evolving college football recruiting landscape features programs pursuing potential prospects at earlier ages these days. The roles of recruit and recruiter were reversed recently at Ohio State when head coach Urban Meyer received a letter from Sullivan Busser, a 3’2″, 25-pound quarterback from Columbus.

The two-year-old athlete’s parents passed along his information to Meyer and the Buckeyes, giving Ohio State a clear edge in the recruiting race for this 2029 prospect. The letter, courtesy of Fox 8 Cleveland, included a photo montage of Busser front and center on the field at The Horseshoe.

Busser’s 40-yard-dash time, leadership and throwing abilities are among the attributes highlighted.

Sure, the cuteness factor here is off the charts. But does Busser have what it takes to become a future Buckeye standout? Meyer didn’t take any chances and responded with a message that reminds us high-paid college football dictators can have a sense of humor and a soft side.

His reply was provided by Fox 8 Cleveland:

Dear Sullivan:

Your parents sent us your future Buckeye recruiting information.  We  will look for you to make your collegiate football debut in 2029 — you will need  to gain a little weight, but our strength staff will take care of that!  Go  Bucks!

Sincerely,

Urban Meyer

Head Football Coach
